Marietta Residents Power Home, Cars With Solar Energy

Matt and Kris M. of Marietta, Georgia wanted to offset their home energy costs and provide power to their 2 new electric vehicles (EVs). They purchased and installed a 32 panel solar energy system using 255 watt monocrystalline solar panels with microinverters. The photovoltaic solar energy system will allow them to recharge their Tesla Model S and Nissan EVs with solar power without adding any extra cost to their monthly utility bill.

Cobb EMC, their local power provider, made their decision to purchase and install solar panels much easier with their Solar Rebate Program which offers a rebate of $450 dollars per kilowatt (kW) of installed solar panels. The system these Marietta residents installed has 32 255W panels for a total of 8.16kW, so they will receive a rebate from Cobb EMC worth $3,600 dollars!

They also installed a Level 2 EV charging station and connected it to the solar wiring.

Because these solar powered EV drivers no longer pay for gasoline this system will pay for itself in a number of ways!

This system was designed and installed by Solar Energy USA - the largest residential solar provider in Georgia.
