27th Annual Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour

The Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour features six private historic homes in the Northwest Marietta/Kennesaw Avenue Historic District filled with antique collections and decorated for the season.

Go behind closed doors as Marietta puts on its holiday finery for the 27th Annual Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour.

More than 3,000 ornaments, thousands of magnolia leaves, 500-plus strands of lights and over 100 poinsettias are used in decorating the houses. A half a dozen or more hotel rooms are booked for homeowners for the event weekend to clear the way for the 5,000 or so visitors who will ooh and ah over vintage, traditional and highly artistic holiday schemes.

The Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour features six private historic homes in the Northwest Marietta/Kennesaw Avenue Historic District filled with antique collections and decorated for the season. Along the route, many of Marietta’s historic public buildings are decorated and open for touring.

The activities begin on Friday, Dec. 6 with “The Marietta Pilgrimage Gala,” a black-tie party at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art.  The home tours kick-off on Saturday, Dec. 7 with the Day Tour offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.and a Candlelight Tour featuring three of the tour homes from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday evening.  

The Day Tour will resume on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day tours offer shuttle service staffed with informative step-on guides.  Along the tour, guests can warm up and enjoy refreshments or a light lunch at The Bistro.  The Marietta Educational Garden Center will feature The Bistro this year.

Santa will light the Christmas tree in the Square on Thursday, Dec. 5 and on Dec. 6, there will be “Candlelight Shopping on the Square.”  This will be a special open house until 8 p.m. at the shoppes on the Historic Marietta Square feature Santa Claus, carolers, carriage rides and luminaries.  

The 27th Annual Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour will spotlight the following historic homes in the Northwest Marietta/Kennesaw Avenue Historic District:

  • The Malone-Harrison-Hines House, c. 1885, 369 Kennesaw Avenue
  • The Warren-Land-Hewitt House, c. 1907, 137 Stewart Avenue
  • The Bramlett-Hicks-Ferreira House, c. 1922, 176 Stewart Avenue
  • The Cox-Brown-Parker House, c. 1900, 109 Maple Avenue
  • Kay dous LaKay, c. 1942, 192 Cleburne Avenue
  • The Baird House, c. early 1900s, 166 Maple Avenue
