Take Advantage of Appliance Amnesty Day

Cobb residents can take their broken or unwanted appliances for recycling this Saturday.

Residents will have the opportunity to recycle broken or unwanted appliances when Keep Cobb Beautiful hosts Appliance Amnesty Day 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, July 21.

The event is sponsored by KCB and Advanced Disposal Services and will be held at Cobb County Waste Disposal/Transfer Station, 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta.

Many appliances will be accepted for free, including stoves, dryers, washers, microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, lawn mowers and outdoor power tools. Appliances with freon/refrigerant, such as freezers, refrigerators and air conditioning units, will have a $5 disposal processing fee, which is usually $12.
