Community Update

In the public eye, there is much-a-do about everything in the Cobb -Braves MOU. Concerned citizens organized for the vote continue to press for answers and have garnered the attention of CNBC, Allvoices.com, AP, The HuffingtonPost.com and other national media for the vote of the century, touting a lone standout Commissioner, Lisa Cupid. Recently presented an Unsung Hero Award from the Cobb Community Coalition, Cupid gave a heartfelt reckoning for her now infamous, "No" vote, while making sure for the record, she was not against the Braves coming to Cobb.



Friday, December 13, Citizens for Governmental Transparency, CGT, held another press conference prior to delivering the "Response Request" letter to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. The letter plainly states, "Citizens for Governmental
Transparency” is an ad hoc committee comprised of individuals and
organizations representing various interests in Cobb County.
Additionally, we are residents and tax payers who believe that
citizens should be appropriately informed and engaged when
significant tax dollars are obligated or expended by our elected
officials. Although we include members who are
both for and against the proposed Braves stadium deal, we are
unified in our belief that serious questions remain unanswered and
need to be addressed before Cobb County proceeds with a project that
will require the use of significant county tax dollars. Therefore,
we the “Citizens for Governmental Transparency” respectfully
request that the Cobb County Board of Commissioners provide answers
to the questions posed in this letter by
