2 Cobb Deputies Hit by Car

They were in the county jail parking lot.

Two Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputies were struck by a car in the parking lot outside the county jail.

Col. Milton Beck told the Marietta Daily Journal that one deputy was trying to talk to 32-year-old Candida Rychell Summerlin in the parking lot about her loud music when she allegedly hit him with her car.

Another deputy went to the parking lot to stop her, and Summerlin struck him, too.

Summerlin, who was just released from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Monday on charges that include simple battery and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, is in custody.
