3 Businesses Burn in Marietta

Powder Springs Street is shut down during the cleanup and investigation of the suspicious fires.

Powder Springs Street has reopened, Marietta police reported, although one northbound lane (heading toward Marietta Square) remains blocked by fire engines.

Fires that struck at least three Marietta businesses have closed Powder Springs Street between Garrison and Sandtown roads this morning.

Pool supply and installation business , hair salon and repair shop Drivers Automotive all suffered suspicious fires early Monday, CBS Atlanta and WSB reported.

Aquarama owner Karen Frye told both TV stations that it appears someone broke into her business, then set it ablaze.

Firetrucks and police remained on the scene as of 5:30, and police said the road would be closed indefinitely.
