Cobb Bomb Threat Update: Home Was Scheduled to Be Sold

The call came in on the day that foreclosed properties were scheduled to go up for auction on the courthouse steps.

Update 2 p.m.

The home where Cobb sheriff's deputies arrested an Acworth man late Tuesday in connection with a bomb threat at the Cobb County Judicial Complex was scheduled to be sold on the courthouse steps, Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren said this afternoon.

Terri Harrington is listed as the owner of the home in the 800 block of Fairwood Pointe, but authorities are not sure how Harrington is related to Tommie Milan Boleman Jr., the 45-year-old Acworth man facing charges in connection with the threat.

Boleman was arrested at 9 p.m. Tuesday at the foreclosed home, online jail records show.

Boleman's capture came 11 hours after he allegedly purchased a Verizon prepaid wireless phone and a prepaid minute card at a Dallas WalMart around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

According to an arrest warrant, Boleman allegedly used that phone to call the Cobb County government information line about 10:25 a.m. During that call, he allegedly told a county employee "that there was a bomb in the courthouse and he could not believe they were selling her house."

As was the case with previous bomb threats, the call was made on the day that foreclosed properties were scheduled to go up for auction on the courthouse steps.

No suspicious devices were found during a search of the courthouse conducted by Cobb sheriff's deputies and an explosives detection canine, Warren said. After a brief delay, court functions resumed without incident.

“As I have said before, we will not tolerate anyone trying to intimidate our court officials, our prosecutors, and our citizens coming to the Cobb County Courthouse to conduct business,” Warren said. “Our agency has policies and procedures in place to handle this type of incident. As far as I am concerned, the deputies responding to this situation did an outstanding job and I am proud of their efforts.”

He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond on five charges that range from terroristic threats to transmitting a false public alarm.
