Children Left in Delk Road Hotel Room

One is eight months old.

Three children between the ages of 8 months and 5 years old were found Thursday night in a Delk Road hotel room with condoms, used diapers and cigarette butts on the floor, Marietta police said.

Tanisha Monique Howard, whose last known address was in Smyrna, allegedly left the children in the Howard Johnson hotel room with a stranger, according to an arrest warrant issued on Friday.

"An interview was conducted with the 5-year-old juvenile victim, and he stated that he could not remember when the last time he ate was," according to the warrant. "All three children had gone 24 hours or longer without any type of food. There were no signs of any baby formula inside the hotel room."

In addition to the other items found on the floor, there was a marijuana cigarette in the hotel room and feces in the toilet, police said.

Howard was arrested on three counts of second degree cruelty to children. She is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $35,000 bond, according to online jail records.
