Cobb Police Explorers Tops at Competition

Their accomplishments were highlighted this week.

The Cobb County Police Explorers earned top honors at this year's Southeast Regional Championship, and Cobb County Department of Public Safety Director Jack L. Forsythe and Cobb County Police Chief John Houser this week recognized them.

Three thousand police, fire and EMS personnel participated in the competition, which was held Feb. 9 in Gatlinburg, TN. The Cobb Explorers finished first in the domestic violence category, fourth in the unknown problem division and sixth in the warrant service category.

Explorer Deputy Chief Brandon Reed won second place in the officer survival division.

Forsythe and Houser on Wednesday presented the Explorers with certificates for their accomplishments.
