Cobb Police say they have increased patrols in an area of East Cobb after three residential burglaries took place this week while residents were sleeping.
All three incidents occurred in neighborhoods located off Lower Roswell Road, east of Johnson Ferry Road.
Officer Michael Bowman of the Cobb Police said in a release issued Thursday night that the first incident took place late Monday night at a home on Saints Court. The perpetrator or perpetrators took a handgun from an unlocked vehicle in the garage, then stole a laptop computer from inside the home before a door alarm woke up the residents.
A break-in of an unlocked vehicle at another residence on Saints Court also was reported Monday night, Bowman said in the release.
The third incident took place when an unlocked home on Asheforde Court was burglarized late Wednesday while the residents were asleep, he said, adding that a purse and other items were taken.
Bowman said police are pursuing "multiple leads" in all three cases and are urging residents to lock vehicles and remove valuables from them and secure all doors and entry points to their homes.
Anyone oberving suspicious activity during overnight hours should call 911, Bowman said.
