Copper Thieves Caught in the Act

Two Marietta men were arrested Tuesday, concluding a two-month copper theft investigation by Marietta Police.

John Riley, 24, and Stanley Ledford, 50, were caught in the act of stealing copper at the Georgia Power Facility located 1769 Sands Place. They were arrested on Sept. 11 at around 4:45 a.m.

Evidence recovered at the scene linked the two suspects to seven burglaries at five other locations.

Both suspects were charged with four counts of burglary for burglaries related to three Marietta locations. Additional charges are pending against these suspects.
