DeKalb Police Officer Accused of Stealing from Lost Wallet in Marietta
A boy found a wallet at a Marietta bowling alley and handed it to his uncle, who took $500 out before turning it over to the front counter.
A young boy in Marietta found a wallet in the men’s room at Brunswick Zone on Sunday, July 29, and handed it to his aunt, who then gave it to her husband, DeKalb County police officer Akii Isaac Myers, 36, 11 Alive and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.
However, Akii took $500 and the ID out of the wallet and handed the money to his wife before turning the wallet into the front counter, AJC and 11 Alive report.
The act was caught on surveillance cameras and Myers later confessed, the AJC and 11 Alive report.

Myers resigned from his job as a DeKalb County police officer the next day.
Myers, of Marietta, and his wife Laprencilla, 31, are both facing charges of theft by taking, according to 11 Alive.
