Fatal Crash on I-75 Near Canton Road Connector

A Woodstock man was killed in a crash on I-75 Wednesday.

The Marietta Police Department is investigating a fatality crash that occurred on Wednesday at 8:20 a.m.


The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the Canton Road Connector in Marietta. 

The initial on-scene investigation reveals that a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Tony Holman, 50, of Woodstock, was traveling south on I-75 in the right lane.  

For reasons unknown, Holman’s vehicle left the roadway and struck the retaining wall before re-entering the southbound lanes of I-75 where it then struck an Acura SUV and tractor trailer.  

The drivers of the Acura and tractor trailer were not injured in the crash.  

Holman was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

This crash is still under investigation and no charges are expected to be filed.
