UPDATE: Fire at Marietta Recycling Center Extinguished

Workers at the recycling center were able to put out the blaze themselves.

UPDATE (3:43 p.m.):Β A spokesman for Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services has told Patch that the fire at the RockTen RecyclingΒ Center on County Services Parkway in Marietta has been put out.

Daniel Dupree said that the fire was localized around a compactor at the site. Workers were able to extinguish the fire using their own water hose.

Units of Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services have reported to the RockTenn Recycling Center on County Services Parkway in Marietta, WSB-TV reports.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is not known at this time. Patch has reached out to Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services and will update this article as more information becomes available.
