Firearm Safety, Rain Barrels, Music

Here's what you need to know before you leave home Thursday, Sept. 15.

1. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m., the National Weather Service says. Today will be partly sunny with a high near 81. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 59.

2. Joy Parkman will be filling the square with Christian music from noon to 1 p.m. as part of the Brown Bag Concert series in Glover Park.

3. The will hold a firearm safety seminar at in the Council Chamber from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

4. The will hold a public information meeting for the Canton Road Corridor Landscaping project. The meeting will be held at St. Andrews Methodist Church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

5. The Watershed Stewardship Program will hold a free make-and-take rain barrel workshop from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Cobb County Water Quality Lab, located at 662 South Cobb Dr. Participants will create their own rain barrels from 55 gallon drums donated by Coca-Cola.
