Harmony Meadows Fire Displaces 20

The fire at the apartment complex on South Cobb Drive also injured a Cobb firefighter and an adult male.

About 20 people have been displaced after an early morning fire destroyed the Cobb County apartment complex where they lived.

The American Red Cross and apartment management are assisting the eight families affected by the blaze at the Harmony Meadows Apartment Homes, said Denell Boyd, the spokeswoman for Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services.

By the time firefighters responded to the scene on South Cobb Drive just after 4:30 a.m. today, flames were already shooting through the roof, she said.
