A man was left with brain and spinal injuries as a result of the accident.
A Kennesaw woman faces multiple charges in connection with an accident that left a man with brain and spinal injuries.
About 1:44 p.m. May 13, Patricia Evans was traveling along Cobb Parkway at Pete Scogin Parkway at a high rate of speed, according to an arrest warrant.
The posted speed limit was 55 mph. Evans was driving her 2001 Toyota Sequoia 72 mph when she ran a red light and caused an accident with Christopher Gage's car, police said.
"Christopher Gage did sustain serious injuries to his neck and brain as a result of the motor vehicle crash where Patricia Evans was operating her 2001 Toyota Sequoia in a reckless disregard by speeding and disregarding a traffic control device," according to the warrant.
Evans surrendered to Cobb authorities Wednesday on charges that include speeding, reckless driving, serious injury by vehicle and violation of a traffic control device. She was released the same day on a $5,000 bond.
Gage, a coach for the Stingrays cheerleading organization, recently moved to the Shepherd Center to continue his recovery, according to WSB-TV.
