Man Arrested at Chatt Tech

Authorities said they found 11 clear plastic baggies that contained suspected marijuana and $380 in cash in the suspect's right front pocket.

A man was arrested at Chattahoochee Technical College's Marietta campus after leading security guards on a brief foot chase.

About 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, a Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputy questioned Tyrone Tucker of Marietta "as a possible wanted person," according to an arrest warrant.

"He was unable to provide any identification," according to the warrant. "Affiant also detected a strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from his person."

When authorities tried to conduct a pat down, Tucker allegedly took off toward an exit, records show.

"During the course of the struggle to restrain the accused, affiant did receive several scratches and abrasions from the accused," authorities said.

When they were finally able to conduct the pat down, they found 11 clear plastic baggies that contained suspected marijuana and $380 in cash in Tucker's right front pocket.

"The manner of packaging and the presence of $380 in US currency in small denominations is consistent with distribution of marijuana," authorities said.

Tucker was arrested on charges of obstruction and intent to distribute. He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. He has a hold on his release out of Marietta.
