Man Shot, Killed at Marietta Apartment Complex

Early Thursday morning shooting reportedly took place at The Pointes of Marietta apartments on Cunningham Road.

As of late Thursday, Marietta police had not made an arrest in the early morning shooting death at a Marietta apartment complex.

In an email to Patch, Marietta Police Detective Chris Lindsey said responding officers had found a black male laying in the complex parking lot next to a vehicle.

“At this time, the Marietta Police Investigative Services Division is actively investigating this incident,” Lindsey said.

According to Marietta police, a man was shot and killed at a Marietta apartment complex shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Authorities are investigating the shooting that took place at approximately 12:15 a.m. at The Pointes of Marietta apartments, located at 1275 Cunningham Road.

Police have not released the name of the deceased, who reportedly was found in the parking lot of the complex. He was later pronounced dead at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
