Man Throws Brass Pipe End Caps at Marietta Police Car

The suspect intentionally threw two brass pipe end caps into the front windshield of the Cop Cab, which was parked in front of the Marietta Police Department.

Victor Velasquez, 37, of Marietta, was charged with intentionally damaging a Marietta Police car.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on July 10, the suspect intentionally threw two brass pipe end caps into the front windshield of the department's Cop Cab, which was parked in front of the Marietta Police Department, according to a press release from Marietta Public Information Officer David Baldwin.

An investigation and forensic data recovered at the scene linked Velasquez to not only this crime but three additional damage to property incidents in the area.

Velasquez was disgruntled because of recent family problems and a recent arrest by the Marietta Police Department, according to Baldwin.

Velasquez was charged with felony criminal interference with government property and felony criminal damage to property in the second degree for three windows that he broke on Meeting Street in Marietta, Baldwin said.

Velasquez is being held at the Cobb County Jail on $10,000 bond.

The Cop Cab visually combines the efforts of DUI education and the inevitable end result of DUI enforcement.
