Marietta Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Kon Sarin is suspected of robbing Chevron stations on Powers Ferry Road and Canton Road Sunday and Monday.

Cobb and Marietta Police have arrested a suspect they believe robbed Chevron stations in both jurisdictions over the Labor Day Holiday weekend.

Kon Sarin, of a Wingard Road address in Northeast Cobb, has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime by Cobb Police, according to Cobb Sheriff's Office arrest records.

Sarin was apprehended without incident Tuesday evening at an apartment complex on Barnes Mill Road in East Cobb and is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond, according to police.

He also is facing pending charges by Marietta Police, according to a statement issued Wednesday morning by Marietta Police Public Information Officer David Baldwin.

Sarin is a suspect in the armed robbery of a Chevron Station at 3349 Canton Road, in Northeast Cobb, around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said he also attempted to rob the Canton Road Package store at 1769 Canton Road around 4:30 that morning, but could not get inside the store.

Police believe Sarin is the same man who committed an armed robbery at a Chevron station at 288 Powers Ferry Road, in Marietta city limits, around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Baldwin said police were able to gather forensic evidence at the scene of the Powers Ferry Road incident to break the case.
