Marietta Man Dies From Injuries in February Accident

Wilbur Butts was hit by a vehicle last month as he attempted to cross Bells Ferry Road outside of a pedestrian crosswalk.

According to Cobb police, a pedestrian-vehicle collision last month in Marietta became a fatality on March 5 when 47-year-old Wilbur Butts of Marietta died of his injuries.

According to investigators, on February 7 the driver of a black 1987 Isuzu Pup was traveling eastbound on Bells Ferry Road at the same time Butts was attempting to cross Bells Ferry outside of a pedestrian crosswalk.

Butts was sent by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after being struck by the tuck. On March 5, he died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.

The driver of the Isuzu has been identified as 49-year-old William Graham of Marietta.

Investigators do not expect to file charges in this case, however anyone with information about it is asked to call 770-499-3987.
