Marietta Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Police say rider was speeding and failed to keep control of the bike in a turn.

A 24-year-old Marietta man was killed early this morning when his motorcycle left the road and struck a guard rail.

Jesus Rodriquez was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene from multiple injuries, Cobb Police said.

Rodriguez was going westbound on Cumberland Parkway, between South Atlanta Road and South Cobb Drive in Atlanta, about 2:15 a.m. on his 1996 Suzuki GSXR-750 motorcycle.

Police say Rodriguez was speeding when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the road. The motorcycle left the pavement and the rider was ejected just after both struck a nearby guard rail. 

Cobb Police continue to investigate this fatality crash and anyone with information about it is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
