Marietta Police Athletic League Seeks to Expand Programs

The Marietta Police Athletic League (PAL) is asking residents to help the children of Marietta through youth sports programs.

The Marietta Police Athletic League exists to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing youth access to athletic and recreational opportunities while building a bond between children and police officers.

Over the past six years, Marietta PAL has provided youth access to soccer, basketball, cheerleading, track, swimming, golf and bowling.  PAL is in need of additional sports equipment for new and expanded programs.

Due to changes in the economy, many of these programs have been discontinued; however, the need for such programs still exists to benefit Marietta's youth.

PAL has set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to reach by Nov. 30.
