Police Fight Back Against Copper Thieves

Marietta police and other law enforcement agencies across north metro Atlanta team up to fight the spread of metal thefts.

Marietta and the rest of Cobb County have seen their share of metal thefts the past year, usually involving air-conditioning units stolen from homes and businesses.

Law enforcement has created the Copperhead Metal Task Force to combat the increasing frequency of metal theft in north metro Atlanta. A press conference announcing the partnership was held Tuesday at headquarters.

The , Cobb County Sheriff's Office and Cobb County School Police have teamed up with more than 20 other law enforcement agencies to form the Copperhead Metal Task Force.
