A Whitlock Avenue Rite Aide was robbed by two armed men Thursday morning.

Marietta High School and A.L. Burruss Elementary School were temporarily put on lockdown early Thursday morning after an armed robbery of a nearby Rite Aide on Whitlock Avenue.

Marietta police say two armed men, one with a shotgun, entered the store at 731 Whitlock around 8:15 a.m. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot down nearby Manning Road.

The schools were put on lockdown for approximately 15 minutes.

The lockdown was lifted after a report that the suspects had been seen leaving the area in a vehicle.

No arrests have been made and there were no injuries reported.
