Marietta Teens Killed in Early Morning Crash

Cobb County Police are seeking information regarding an early Sunday crash on Sandy Plains Road at Kinjac Drive.

Two Marietta teens were killed early Sunday in a crash that occurred on Sandy Plains Road at Kinjac Drive in Marietta.

According to a Cobb County Police Department news release, the crash happened about 3:21 a.m.

Based on preliminary information from CCPD’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, the crash saw a silver 2001 Volvo S60 going northbound on Sandy Plains Road at a high rate of speed when the driver apparently lost control.  The car crossed into the southbound lanes of Sandy Plains Road and struck a large brick sign at the intersection of Kinjac Drive. After striking the sign, the vehicle caught fire and both the driver and his occupant died as a result.

Authorities identified the deceased as 19-year old Stephen Nolasco, who drove the vehicle, and his passenger as 18-year-old Matthew Bennett. Both are from Marietta.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to determine what activities both teens may have been involved in prior to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call 770-499-3987.

Good grief, if the rifle can kill someone, why on earth would you give it to a five-year-old? ThisRead More one just boggles my mind. I hope that even the NRA has a problem with this.

This is a fine example of freedom being too much to handle for some folks. The idiots who gave theRead More kid the gun should be jailed. Its obvious that a 5 year old should neither posses, nor handle a firearm period. Having said that I am a full supporter of the Second Amendment and the NRA. However we cannot measure the validity of the right to bear arms by using these idiot parents as a case study.
