Marietta Woman Accused of Taking $1M

Angela Williamson, of Marietta, stole the money from her employer over the course of a decade, according to the charges against her.

A 43-year-old Marietta woman was arrested Monday afternoon in Kennesaw on charges that she stole nearly $1 million from her East Cobb employer.

Angela Lynn Williamson of the 2200 block of Sessions Street in Marietta faces 11 felony counts of theft by taking and is being held on $900,000 bond, according to records.

The May 16 warrant against her indicates that the thefts began in September 2001 and continued into 2011.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Williamson is accused of writing herself as many as 57 checks a year on the business accounts of employer InterContinental Marble, which is in the 2200 block of Northwest Parkway in East Cobb.

The company realized last year that almost $1 million was missing, the AJC said, and the marble business filed a civil lawsuit against Williamson in on June 29, 2011, according to the court docket. The next hearing in that case is scheduled for a week from today.

Good grief, if the rifle can kill someone, why on earth would you give it to a five-year-old? ThisRead More one just boggles my mind. I hope that even the NRA has a problem with this.

This is a fine example of freedom being too much to handle for some folks. The idiots who gave theRead More kid the gun should be jailed. Its obvious that a 5 year old should neither posses, nor handle a firearm period. Having said that I am a full supporter of the Second Amendment and the NRA. However we cannot measure the validity of the right to bear arms by using these idiot parents as a case study.
