Marietta Woman Charged With Transporting Nearly 10 Pounds of Pot

Report says she was caught speeding when marijuana was found.

A Marietta woman who was stopped for speeding on I-75 is facing charges of transporting nearly 10 pounds of marijuana.

The Crisp Co. Sheriff's Office told WALB News that an officer with the Criminal Apprehension Team stopped a Krystal Wright, 21, for driving 87 MPH in a 70 MPH zone near mile marker 104 on Interstate 75, just north of Cordele.

The deputy smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and saw residue on the passenger seat, the station reported.

Wright was arrested and charged with Speeding and Possession of Marijuana with intent.

She was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center and held under $6,300 bond.
