Marietta Woman Faces Burglary Charge

The suspect's neighbor told her that she would be out of town from June 2 to June 9, according to an arrest warrant.

A Marietta woman who knew that her neighbor would be out of town allegedly broke into the neighbor's Marquis View apartment and stole an Emerson 39-inch television.

Shwanda Johnson was arrested Aug. 1 on one count of first degree burglary.

According to an arrest warrant, Johnson's neighbor told her that she would be out of town from June 2 to June 9, according to an arrest warrant.

When the neighbor returned home, she noticed that the sliding glass door on her balcony was open, according to the warrant. The neighbor said that the door was locked when she left.

"Upon further investigation," according to the warrant, "it was determined that said accused did pawn the Emerson 39-inch television" on June 8.

Johnson reclaimed the television from the pawn shop on June 11, according to the warrant.

Johnson is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.
