Multi-State Pickpockets Sought – Douglasville Patch

If you shop at Hobby Lobby, you may have seen the suspects the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and Douglasville Police Department are looking for.

The pictured suspects enter Hobby Lobby stores where the male steals wallets while the female distracts the victims, according to the sheriff's Facebook page. The stolen credit cards are often immediately used in nearby stores. Visit Douglasville Patch for more on this story.

Acworth Officers Save 74-Year-Old Woman - Acworth Patch

Acworth Police Officer Russell Mines went to the Cobb Parkway QuikTrip Monday for gas.

He ended up helping save a 74-year-old Dallas woman's life. 

It all started around 2:27 p.m. Monday when Mines was filling up his patrol car. He noticed Margaret Kehrt lying in the parking lot, unconscious and not breathing.

Mines retrieved his medical bag and notified dispatch. Cpl. Luke Reynolds arrived on the scene to find an emergency room physician, Dr. William Zorn of Watkinsville, Ga., tending to Kehrt. The full story is on Acworth Patch.

Armed Suspect Arrested After Buckhead Hotel Evacuated – Buckhead Patch

An armed burglary suspect was taken into Atlanta Police custody early Thursday afternoon after authorities talked him out of the Buckhead hotel room in which he had locked himself in.

The Towne Place Suites hotel, located at 800 Sidney Marcus Boulevard, was evacuated shortly before noon after reports that an armed man had rushed into the hotel and locked himself in a second floor room. Visit Buckhead Patch for more on this story.

Sheriff's Office Identifies Worker Killed at Chicken Plant - Canton-Sixes Patch

The man who was killed in a Tuesday afternoon accident at the Pilgrim's Pride chicken plant has been identified by Cherokee County authorities.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has named 37-year-old Christopher Chin of Canton as the victim of the accident, which is under investigation. Follow Canton-Sixes Patch for updates.
