Pedestrian Struck Crossing Delk Road

The Marietta Police Department is investigating a serious injury pedestrian crash that occurred on Delk Road, at the intersection with Franklin Road. 

The initial on-scene investigation reveals that the pedestrian, 44-year-old Darin McDuffie of Marietta, was attempting to cross Delk Road from the south to the north, according to a Marietta Police press release.

A red 2003 Honda Pilot, operated by William Gailey, 67, of Marietta, traveling westbound on Delk Road struck McDuffie in the roadway.

McDuffie was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital via Metro Ambulance. McDuffie has been admitted to the I.C.U., according to the release.

This crash is under investigation and charges of pedestrian under the influence, pedestrian darting out into traffic and failure to obey a traffic control device are pending for McDuffie, according to the release.
