Pedestrian Killed Near Southern Poly
He's the third person fatally struck by a car in Cobb County in three days.
A 50-year-old man crossing South Marietta Parkway in Marietta was struck by a car and died Saturday night.
He was the fourth pedestrian hit by a vehicle and the third to die in Cobb County in three days.
The man was crossing the road about 10:15 p.m. outside a crosswalk at Rose Drive, by , when a silver 2004 Pontiac Grand Am hit him, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Sheila Mize, 57, of Marietta was driving the car, the AJC said. have not released the pedestrian's identity.
The man died at . Charges against Mize are possible when police finish investigating the collision.

have not filed charges in the two other fatalities and one additional serious accident involving vehicles hitting pedestrians last week:
- Former football coach Charles Collins, 66, of Smyrna when he was hit by a white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado while he was trying to cross Atlanta Road in Smyrna.
- Preston Lee Hester, 62, of Greensboro, NC, when he was hit by a green 2002 Toyota Camry while he was crossing Powder Springs Road at Oxford Road. He was taken to Kennestone.
- Wendy Nolan, 39, of Austell after being hit by a red 2004 Toyota Corolla while she was crossing Austell Road south of Floyd Road just before 10:40 p.m. Friday.
