The Marietta Police Department is investigating a serious injury pedestrian crash that occurred Thursday around 3:50 p.m.
The initial on-scene investigation reveals that 40-year-old Jeannie Richards, of Marietta, was crossing Delk Road northbound at Franklin Road. A blue 2012 Ford Focus driven by Jessica Lamb, of Marietta, was traveling west on Delk Road.
The Focus struck Richards on the east side of the intersection, as she attempted to cross in the rain.
Richards was transported to Kennestone Hospital via Metro Ambulance and is listed in critical condition.
This crash is under investigation, and no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
