Police Arrest Suspect in Warehouse Burglary

The burglary occurred on Nov. 28 at a vacant warehouse on Cobb Industrial Drive in Marietta.

have secured arrest warrants for two people in a burglary that occurred at a vacant warehouse located on Cobb Industrial Drive on Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Police responded to the warehouse for a report of a possible burglary in progress. A witness stated they observed a white male walk from behind the warehouse and place possible copper wiring in the back of a Nissan truck. The vehicle had left the scene prior to the officers' arrival.

Evidence collected at the scene led to the identification of both suspects, 24-year-old Jay Douglas Trantham of Marietta and 24-year-old Louis Anthony Lopez of Marietta. Trantham was arrested on Dec. 2, and his vehicle, a red Nissan Pathfinder, was confiscated.Β

At least two more counts of burglary are still pending against Trantham, who is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
