Romney Signs Stolen; Trouble at Subway - Johns Creek Patch

On Oct. 8 a resident on Buice Road reported that someone entered her property and stole Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan campaign signs that were posted at the end of her driveway. She told police that a campaign sign had also been stolen from the intersection of Buice and Redbird Lane and that she had notified the GOP. See Johns Creek Patch for more on this story.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office reported these bookings at the county jail of Powder Springs residents on Tuesday.

Dacula Gas Station Burglary Was Not Only Incident - Dacula Patch

The Oct. 8 burglary of the Kwick Check BP on Harbins Road in Dacula was not the only gas station burglary to occur that day.

In the Kwick Check burglary, two males were captured on video entering the store and taking two cash drawers and a change box. According to the police report, the back door had a single mark on it that appeared to have been made by a sledgehammer. The wires to the alarm system had also been cut. Cherokee Commission Oks Forensic Audit on Ball Ground Recycling - Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Patch

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to move forward on another recommendation issued by a grand jury on a failed business venture.

The commissioners approved sending out a request for proposals to submit to five firms to perform an audit on the Resource Recovery Development Authority's deal to back bonds up to $18 million to relocate Cherokee Recycling, later renamed Ball Ground Recycling, to land near Ball Ground. Million-Dollar Homes Get Zoning Nod - East Cobb Patch

A zoning decision by the Cobb Board of Commissioners this week should leave little doubt about the very strong health of the East Cobb real estate market.

By a 4-0 vote on Tuesday (with chairman Tim Lee absent) the commissioners approved a request by Brooks Chadwick Capital, LLC, to rezone 6.6 acres on Woodlawn Road, just south of Lower Roswell Road, for 21 homes that will cost an average of $1 million. See East Cobb Patch for more on this story.
