News Nearby: Infant Dies in Smyrna DUI Head-On Wreck
Group of five traveling in wrong direction on Windy Hill Road results in violent collision with taxi near South Cobb Drive.
According to Smyrna Police Cpl. Ed Cason, Darren Curry was traveling in the wrong direction with an adult female and three young boys when the vehicle he was operating hit a taxi head-on near South Cobb Drive.
The violent crash that occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday resulted in a 3-year-old being sent to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The 31-year-old Curry, the adult mother of the infant, and a 7-year-old son suffered non-life threatening injuries. The infant was pronounced dead on the scene. Curry is reportedly the father of two of the three boys in the accident.

All five people live together in unincorporated Cobb County.
The taxi driver also was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Cason, after he is released from the hospital, Curry will be taken to the Cobb County jail. All three children were not properly buckled up at the time of the accident according to the Smyrna PD spokesperson.
