Teen Driver Fatally Shot in Marietta

The wounded 18-year-old was found after crashing into two parked cars at the Marquis Place apartments.

A Marietta teenager is in critical condition after being found shot at the scene of a car crash Wednesday night.

reported finding Daniel Perez, 18, behind the wheel of a vehicle that had crashed into two parked cars at the Marquis Place apartment complex at 1019 Franklin Rd. around 9:45 p.m.

The reason Perez had wrecked: He had been shot.

He was rushed to in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release overnight.

A man was seen fleeing from the scene, but the police description is vague: He was black, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, thin, and wearing dark jeans and a white, hooded jacket.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police Detective Shane Merritt at 770-794-5324.

This is a fine example of freedom being too much to handle for some folks. The idiots who gave theRead More kid the gun should be jailed. Its obvious that a 5 year old should neither posses, nor handle a firearm period. Having said that I am a full supporter of the Second Amendment and the NRA. However we cannot measure the validity of the right to bear arms by using these idiot parents as a case study.
