Student's Threatening Text Prompts Heightened Alert at Osborne High
A 16-year-old student was charged with disrupting a public school and two counts of making terroristic threats.
A 16-year-old Osborne High student allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, her current boyfriend and himself, prompting school administrators to put the school on a heightened state of alert for about 45 minutes late Wednesday morning.
The student spelled out the threat in a text to his ex-girlfriend's friend sometime Wednesday morning, Cobb County Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Bowman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Officials thought the incident was serious enough to call police to the scene to look for the student. Officers found him at his home and took him into custody. He was charged with disrupting a public school and two counts of making terroristic threats, according to the AJC report.

Because the suspect, the ex-girlfriend and the current boyfriend are juveniles, their identities will not be released, Bowman said.
