Train Smashes Truck in Marietta

Three members of the CSX crew are taken to the hospital.

A CSX freight train collided with an 18-wheeler stuck on Marietta railroad tracks Monday afternoon.

Three members of the train crew were taken to with complaints of neck and back pain after the crash at a CSX crossing near Loudermilk Drive and Marble Mill Road about 4 p.m., The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The driver was safely out of the truck before the train arrived, CBS Atlanta said. The truck carried scrap metal, the AJC said.

spokesman Officer David Baldwin told the AJC that people tried to clear the trailer from the tracks, β€œbut it was wedged on there pretty good.”
