RV Sought in Fatal I-75 Hit-and-Run in Cobb

A Florida man was killed Saturday afternoon in a chain-reaction accident near Delk Road.

Marietta Police are looking for a recreational vehicle they say is responsible for a fatal accident on Interstate 75 in Cobb County on Saturday afternoon.

Police said Bradley Braland, 40, of Winter Garden, Fla., was pronounced dead at the scene of the multi-vehicle accident, which occurred in the southbound lanes of I-75 at Delk Road around 1:45 p.m.

Braland was a passenger in black Toyota Prius that was struck by a vehicle that was hit by the motor home, according to police.

The RV was described as having champagne, tan and bluish green colors with a box-style design, according to Marietta Police, who said the female driver of the Prius suffered minor injuries.

She was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, and a four-year-old boy in the back of the Prius was not hurt, according to police.

Police said the RV was attempting to change lanes when it hit the back of a white Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Camry lost control and crossed all lanes of I-75 before crashing into the Prius, police said.

The Prius stuck the median wall and flipped, causing Braland, who was not wearing a seat belt, to be partially ejected, police said.

The Camry hit two other vehicles but police said no one else was injured.

Police said the RV should have damage to the right front quarter panel, and that anyone with information about the accident to contact Marietta Police Officer Nick Serkedakis at 770-794-5266.
