Veterans Day Events

1. The Veterans Day Assembly on Friday will honor and recognize those who have served in the United States Military. This year's event begins at 9:15 a.m.

The City of Marietta and the Marietta Kiwanis Club is hosting the seventh annual on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. at the and marching through the Marietta Square followed by a ceremony at noon at Glover Park. Participants will include the marching band, drill teams, floats, veterans' organizations and military vehicles. Ceremonies on the Square will start at noon and end around 1.

4. From now through Jan. 2, the is hosting exhibit which explores the history and heroism of the first African-American pilots to fly in combat during WWII.

5. The students of Faith Lutheran Church and School will present a Veterans Day celebration, “Thanking Those Who’ve Served,” at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The program will consist of musical tributes set to photographs of American servicemen and scenes of America, scripted to a patriotic narrative honoring our nation’s servicemen. This event is being held in partnership with Operation Stars and Stripes, who will be collecting items at the program for distribution to our deployed service members during the Holiday season. The program is free and open to the public. Faith Lutheran Church and School is located at 2111 Lower Roswell Rd.
