Warrant: Marietta Man Throws Cup at Baby

An argument between the suspect and his sister allegedly became violent.

A Marietta man surrendered to authorities Tuesday, six days after police said he threw a plastic cup at an 8-month-old baby who was laying on an inflatable mattress.

The cup missed the baby, but Leonardo Divince Wilkins was in such a rage after an July 17 argument with his sister that he broke a pantry door off the hinges, punched holes in a door and wall, and threw other items around the apartment, Marietta police said.

Two other juveniles were present at the Autumn View Apartments during the incident, according to a warrant.

Wilkins was arrested on one count each of criminal trespass, simple assault and third degree cruelty to children. All are misdemeanor offenses.

Wilkins was released Tuesday on $3,500 bond.
