Warrant: Suspect in Theft Posted Stolen Items Online

She allegedly stole more than $3,000 worth of items from a Southern Polytechnic State University apartment.

Authorities have arrested a woman who allegedly stole more than $3,000 worth of items from a Southern Polytechnic State University apartment, then posted images of herself wearing the stolen items online.

Between 5 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. June 8, Amanda Mae Lamoureux allegedly stole $240 cash, a gold rope style 24-inch necklace valued at $249, three gold men's rings valued at $2,400 and a Dell computer tablet valued at $300, according to an arrest warrant that was issued on July 11.

The owner of the items told police that Lamoureux was the last person in the apartment when the items were stolen, according to the warrant.

"The victim returned to his apartment and found the items missing," police said. "The victim was unable to contact the suspect."

An investigation found Lamoureux relocated to Toccoa, according to the warrant.

"Internet images posted by the suspect wearing the victim's missing gold rope style necklace with a silver clasp were found by the victim and provided to SPSU Police," authorities said.

Lamoureux allegedly admitted to taking the items and led authorities to the two addresses where the stolen goods were, police said.

She was arrested on a charge of theft by taking. Lamoureux is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bond.
