Water Main Break Ices Powder Springs Road in Marietta

The southbound right lane of Powder Springs Road near Garrison Road is closed due to a water main break.

The southbound right lane of Powder Springs Road near Garrison Road is closed due to a water main break that occurred Tuesday morning, according to Marietta Police Public Information Officer David Baldwin.

Emergency crews are working on a broken water pipe that is pouring water onto the right southbound lane of Powder Springs Road near Garrison and Gramling Roads.

About an inch of ice has already accumulated.

"The water is still coming out, and the ice has gotten thicker," Baldwin said around 9:40 a.m.

The pipe broke near a blind curve in the roadway so use caution when approaching that area.
