WellStar Kennestone Hospital Outburst Lands Man in Jail

It started when a man picked up an emergency room bed.

A Decatur man allegedly picked up an emergency room bed at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, slammed it against the floor, then banged the bed against the concrete walls of the hospital.

The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Jerry Flowers allegedly attempted to push the bed out of emergency room No. 19, pushing a security officer into the door frame and damaging his Taser, according to an arrest warrant.

Flowers "completely" damaged the bed, authorities said. In all, the damage to the bed and the Taser was in excess of $9,300, according to the warrant.

Flowers was arrested on a charge of second degree criminal damage. He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.
