Woman Carjacks Truck in Marietta with 2 Kids in Tow

A 27-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in Temple after she allegedly stole a truck with her two children in tow and led police on a chase.

The truck, which was equipped with GPS, was tracked to Carroll County where Nicole Evans, of Roswell, tried to elude police, leading them on a chase on I-20 that ended when Evans collided with a Bremen Police car, according to 11 Alive and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Earlier in the day, Evans tried to steal a taxi from a Cobb County Transit Station in Marietta. When the driver stopped her, Evans ran to the nearby Chevron gas station, located at 811 South Marietta Parkway, and stole a truck from a customer who had left the vehicle idling, according to CBS Atlanta, the AJC and 11 Alive.

The owner tried to stop Evans and was dragged a short distance before letting go, according to Channel 2.

Evans is being held at the Carroll County Jail on more than 20 charges, including theft, reckless conduct, aggravated assault, cruelty to children, fleeing a police officer, speeding and reckless driving, according to 11 Alive, the AJC and CBS Atlanta.

Police estimate the two girls with Evans to be around two years old, according to CBS Atlanta. They were returned to their father in Roswell, according to CBS Atlanta and 11 Alive.
