The Southeast's largest regional theme park is holding Fright Fest auditions starting Saturday, July 28.

From zombies to vampires and sword swallowers to fire eaters, the park is looking for unique specialty acts and scare actors ready to make their debut in October.

The is investigating after a woman was found dead Wednesday in an Acworth home.

Police arrived at the Dallas Street residence of Greg McManus, 31, after receiving a medical complaint, and discovered the body of 28-year-old Emily Ann Brown.

McManus was arrested for misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. Officials also discovered that he had two other active warrants—one through the for Failure to Appear and the other through the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

Just days after reports that police are looking for a man responsible for , police said that two rings valued at $49,430 were stolen from .

On July 10, loss prevention staff at Saks Fifth Avenue told police that an unknown individual switched the two high-dollar rings out of the display case with fakes.

Tuesday saw the opening of a pair of Midtown eateries: the Fifth Group’s seafood concept Lure in the remodeled former home of Vickery’s Bar and Grill; and Kiri, which is serving up Korean and Japanese cuisine in the former NAM space in the Midtown Promenade shopping center at 931 Monroe Dr.

Kiri diners will find the likes of sushi and barbecue calamari, while the focus at Lure (1106 Crescent Ave) is on “fresh and forward-looking” seafood. Actor Owen Wilson has already stopped by the cozy space designed with reclaimed woods from all over the world. For more on Lure, see here.

Over at Atlantic Station, a pair of new eateries opened their doors just in time for the BB&T Atlanta Open tennis tournament ongoing at the mixed-use site this week. BGR: The Burger Joint, in the former Doc Green’s space, and Meehan’s Public House near Central Park, have already served their first satisfied customers.
