Update: Missing Woman Found Dead

Annie L. Smith suffered from dementia and asthma and didn't have her medications with her.

The 57-year-old woman with dementia reported missing from Northeast Cobb Wednesday has been found dead in DeKalb County.

Annie Smith was reported missing from the Ashley Manor Personal Care Home.

A body matching Smith's description was found in the 1400 block of Hosea Williams Drive around 10 a.m. today, Pat Bailey, director of the DeKalb County medical examiner's office, told the AJC.

A neighbor noticed the body and called police, Bailey said.

"We have reason to believe this is the woman missing from Marietta," Bailey said.

Police have issued a Mattie's Call for a disabled woman who disappeared from a facility in Northeast Cobb.

According to investigators, Annie L. Smith, 57, was reported missing from the Ashley Manor Personal Care Home on Dickson Road.

Smith suffers from dementia and asthma and does not have her medications with her. She is believed to be on foot and was last seen wearing black pants and a royal blue shirt. She also had on a black zip-up jacket with a hood at the time she went missing.

She's described as being 5-foot-3 and 150 pounds. She has brown eyes and short gray hair.
