Deal Taps Cobb Residents for State Boards

They were among 46 appointees.

Gov. Nathan Deal recently appointed 46 people to various state boards.

Five of the appointees were Cobb County residents, according to a release from the governor's office.

Lewis A. Wheaton of Smyrna and Liza R. Leiter of Marietta were appointed to the Georgia State Rehabilitation Council, which helps prepare Georgians with disabilities to enter or return to the workplace.

Don G. Hallacy of Marietta was appointed to the Georgia Technology Authority, which manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 85 executive branch agencies and managed network services to 1,400 state and local government entities.

Gus Makris of East Cobb and Lee C. Hunter of Mableton were appointed to the Bona Fide Coin Operated Amusement Machine Operator Advisory Board. Bona Fide Coin Operated Amusement Machines include pinball machines, arcade games and bowling machines. Among other things, the board establishes procedures for licensure.
